PG&E

The Problem

PG&E was in the midst of a rapid deployment of  replacing all electric meters and upgrading all gas meters with SmartMeters. This project required changes to various PG&E systems and processes. In effect, this deployment would change the way employees performed their jobs within each line of business. For example, local office employees who are required to answer customer questions needed to know  the basics about the new electric meter and gas module, such as how the meter worked and how to read SmartMeter data in the billing system.

The Solutions

Write on Time Solutions brought in three instructional designers to develop core curriculum for each line of business based on the ADDIE instructional design model. (The ADDIE model revolves around five components: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation.)

Write on Time Solutions instructional designers worked with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and trainers to determine the content needed for the training materials. Consulting with the in-house training department, Write on Time Solutions developed paper-based Instructor-Led Training (ILT), job aids, student guides, and facilitator guides for the training.

All training was delivered on time and met the client’s requirements.
